This full-day mountain biking adventure begins in Ouirgane, a quiet mountain village set between pine forests and red-earth hills in the High Atlas. The area is known for its wide valleys, traditional Berber agriculture, and calm atmosphere an ideal starting point to warm up before heading higher.
From Ouirgane, the ride climbs gradually toward the Tizi n’Techt Pass, following old mountain tracks once used by local villagers, mule caravans, and shepherds moving between valleys. As you gain elevation, the landscape becomes more open and dramatic, with panoramic views over terraced fields, remote hamlets, and snow-capped peaks in the distance during the colder months.
Reaching Tizi n’Techt is the high point of the day both physically and visually. The pass sits in a remote section of the Atlas Mountains, far from main roads and mass tourism. It’s a natural crossroads between valleys and a perfect place for a short break, photos, and refueling.
After the pass, riders can choose between two different riding styles, depending on skill level and preference:
A singletrack descent, narrow and playful, offering technical sections, switchbacks, and a more engaging, hands-on riding experience.
A wide off-road track, faster and smoother, allowing riders to enjoy the scenery while maintaining a steady flow.
Both routes descend toward the fertile Asni Valley, where the terrain softens and the ride finishes among walnut trees, rivers, and traditional Berber villages. The contrast between the high, rugged pass and the green valley below makes this ride especially rewarding.
